Job Description
As Mental Health Clinician you'll play a key role in providing high-quality counselling and supporting the mental health and wellbeing of older individuals. Plus, enjoy flexible, family-friendly work conditions and competitive pay – making this an ideal opportunity for work-life balance!
- Providing high-quality counselling (individual and group settings) for residents in aged care facilities, helping them navigate mental health challenges. This includes the ability to assess and address the unique needs of each client while using ethical frameworks and professional judgment to navigate complex situations.
- Increasing mental health awareness among aged care facility staff, families, and carers to create a supportive environment.
- Collaborating closely with aged care facilities, families, carers, and other stakeholders to ensure a holistic, integrated approach to mental wellbeing.
- Engaging in supervision and professional development, ensuring continuous growth and excellence in service delivery.

About you
We need someone with a strong background in mental health and a passion for supporting older adults:
- Experience in individual counselling therapy, with a focus on mental health, trauma, and family conflict.
- Knowledge of mental health recovery principles, the social model of health, and community networks.
- Familiarity with therapeutic approaches such as ACT, mindfulness, and brief therapy.
- Experience working with older adults (highly regarded but not essential).
- Proficiency in computer applications (Word, Email, databases).
Qualifications
- Minimum Bachelor's degree (Counselling, Social Work, Nursing, or similar).
- Must maintain relevant annual registration and/or membership of professional body.
- Experience working with older adults (highly regarded but not essential).
