Reconciliation
Listening, learning and working together with First Nations Peoples and Communities.
Our journey towards reconciliation starts with listening, learning, working together with and amplifying the voices of First Nations Peoples and Communities. We aim to build stronger relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and communities to create positive change.

Our vision for reconciliation
In the spirit of reconciliation and guided by our values, Each is committed to social justice, and the promotion of health and wellbeing for all in the community. For true reconciliation to be achieved, Each believes in a future where:
- relationships between the wider Australian community and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples are continuously strengthened
- Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and their people will be restored to a place of equity, dignity and respect
- Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples are empowered to make decisions for their own future.
Each recognises that since colonisation, successive government policies have systematically disadvantaged and marginalised Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and we acknowledge these past injustices.
We fully affirm there is a long path to follow to achieve equality for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and their Communities in regard to their own self-determination, cultural respect, inclusivity, and health and wellbeing outcomes to positively progress in the reduction of the life expectancy gap between Indigenous and non-Indigenous people of Australia.

How we're living this
We collaborate and build respectful relationships with our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander customers, Communities and staff. Together, we continue to create culturally safe and accessible services and jobs.
Understanding our history
We recognise the true history of Australia and how past policies and practices continue to affect Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples today. This understanding guides our ongoing work to make our services and spaces more culturally safe and welcoming.
Valuing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander leadership
We respect and seek guidance from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in designing and delivering our services. Their knowledge, wisdom and experience guide us in creating better services.
Creating safe spaces
We work to make sure our services and workplaces are culturally safe, inclusive and welcoming for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
Prioritising access to services and support
We provide priority access to all services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples regardless of contractual or funding requirements.
Our Wirri Girri network
More than 50 staff are part of our Wirri Girri network. Becoming a Wirri Girri is an important step on our path to reconciliation.
Our Wirri Girri champion reconciliation at Each by:
- promoting respect and appreciation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and culture
- sharing our reconciliation journey
- supporting the commitments in our Innovate Reconciliation Action Plan
- making it easier for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander customers and communities to find and use the services they need.
The program is open to all staff, reflecting our belief that reconciliation is everyone's responsibility.
Our Innovate Reconciliation Action Plan
Together, we're walking a path towards better outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and communities. Our Innovate Reconciliation Action Plan (2023-2025) guides how we'll work alongside First Nations Peoples to create culturally safe services and meaningful partnerships that make real change possible.
