Support Worker - Social Activity Groups

Job description

Job Description

  • Bring your creativity to a role with purpose as you help older adults maintain independent and enriching lives.
  • Full-time position (8am - 4pm) based in Wynnum + travel where required.
  • Competitive salary + 25% casual loading + Super + Generous Salary Packaging benefits of up to $18,550

This position will be a part of our Social Activity Group with the key focus being to work alongside older people whilst in the supported social activity group to enable their identified needs and goals to be fulfilled, to make decisions and choices about their own lives, to facilitate their access and participation in their community, and to remain living in their homes independently.

Although a typical day might be hard to come across, you will regularly be engaging with the clients in groups on outings or in our centre as they challenge their minds in a variety of activities or even at a simple gathering sharing stories.

Social Activity Group responsibilities:

  • Empower and Support: Work directly with older individuals to help them achieve their personal goals and live more independently, all while enjoying social activities.
  • Active Participation: Guide clients in making decisions about the services they receive, ensuring their feedback shapes the activities and experiences we offer.
  • Engage and Inspire: Facilitate dynamic group activities, both at our centre and on outings, where you’ll help clients stay mentally active and socially connected—whether it’s through thought-provoking games or casual story-sharing.

This role is perfect for someone who is enthusiastic about supporting older people, loves building connections, and wants to be part of a supportive, fun, and impactful team!
